Jakem Farm Tree Planting Project

Date: 15-Aug-2017 Landscaping News

This project is funded through the Australian Governments National Landcare Programme 20 Million Trees Project.

The team at Goolwa to Wellington Lap and other volunteers are currently undertaking 130 hectares of revegetation across Jakem Farm and the neighbouring properties to the east. This is being carried out with a combination of machine direct seeding, hand seeding and tubestock plantings.

This year 15,000 seedlings will be planted with approximately 5000-6000 being planted by volunteers, mostly from the 4WDing community. Two planting days were held on the 8th of July and 5th August being attended by volunteers.

Majority of the planting is hikos with Corflute Treeguards and Hardwood Stakes
